Director of First Impressions
Melissa is the current front desk receptionist at Geraci LLP handling phone calls and appointments while also receiving incoming packages of various mysteries. Although new to this firm, she is quite elated to be working with so many talented and knowledgeable team members while pursuing her eventual dream of being an English teacher. Her last job at a more medical type of office prepared her for a large volume of clientele and taught her patience in working with people who have high expectations and impassioned life views.
When not working, Melissa can be found volunteering at Agape Church in Yorba Linda mostly in the children’s ministry and singing on the worship team. In other moments when not working, she can be found reading a book; so fully immersed in a fictional world she is oblivious to all else around. Her husband can attest to the focus and passion she has in accomplishing any task set before her, whether volunteering or vacationing!
A top vacation would have to be the honeymoon cruise my husband and I took along the Mexican Riviera. There were so many off-shore activities and amazing dinners on the ship, it stands above the other trips we’ve had the opportunity to adventure on thus far.
An ever-changing kaleidoscope of sound, depending on what fits the mood, a few favorite bands/singers include: Beirut, Hillsong Worship, Hollyn, Lauren Daigle, Rend Collective. As a bonus, current favorite song is O Come to the Altar by Elevation Worship (acoustic version).
Remember the Titans, The Greatest Showman, The Road to El Dorado
When not working I
Adventure with my husband, read, hang out with my mom, thrift, volunteer at church, watch World of Dance.
“Jesus said, “I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”” Found in John 16:33 (NIV)
Q. What was it about the legal field that drew your interest?
The opportunity in trying something new was a major draw to joining the legal field. As the receptionist at Geraci, learning what goes on at a law firm is a daily mini adventure. One more arrow of knowledge is being stored in my quiver!
Q. Who or what helps you stay motivated at Geraci?
Crystal! She’s been such an awesome leader/mentor since I joined the Geraci team! Any question or concern that pops up, she handles with a smile and confident answer. It’s been a smooth transition learning from her!
Q. If you could go back and change any aspect of your life, which would it be?
Given the opportunity, I would go back to the start of my college career and commit to finishing all necessary classes sooner as well as being better organized with other responsibilities.
Q. Who is or was the most influential person in your life?
Honestly, my mom is the most influential person in my life. She was an amazing example of the definition of being driven and hard-working. Not knowing English when she first came to the States, she still pursued higher learning while working tough jobs, and raising 3 kids on her own.
Q. What are you most proud of at Geraci LLP?
Geraci is the first company that has put action to words in terms of how much they truly care about their employees and clients. This is the first company in a long time (if ever) where a boss is legitimately invested in the people they meet and interact with daily. When I’m asked a question, they are not doing it out of politeness or niceties, they are genuinely interested to see what my answer brings to the table. Being chosen to work with Geraci, the first company to exemplify what it means to be a team, has been a privilege and I’m thrilled for what the future might bring.
