How many years have you been in Private Lending and why did you enter this field?
I’ve been in private lending for 12 years. When I first started in the AMC industry some of my first clients were in Non-Qm. I entered this field to help bridge the gap between the appraisers and the appraisal management companies; with the industry appraisers aging there seemed to be a disconnect between appraisers and appraisal management companies.
What do you do for your firm?
I’m the President of Fastapp.
How do your contributions affect your company at large?
I help to run the day to day operations. I’ve been in the industry for over 20 years and I have built many relationships with clients that have a footprint on the industry. These relationships with people who have industry knowledge help us stay ahead of some of our competitors in regard to what is needed to be cutting edge.
How have you seen your company grow in spite of or because of current market conditions?
The past year’s climate has many of our competitors struggling, but we have utilized our strong relationships with Appraiser’s to continue to service our pre-existing clients and put in the work to foster and build relationships with new clients.
What are some of your goals for 2021 and beyond?
One primary goal is to continue conducting and facilitating outreach programs to educate our clients and vendors, with the goal of building awareness and ensuring the integrity of our field as a whole.
What does success look like for you?
Peace and happiness. For me, spending time with my family is imperative for my own personal peace and happiness.
What is something most people don’t know about you or your company?
I’m a military veteran and an avid sports fisher.
What has been the highlight so far in your career?
Building a nation-wide AMC that holds licenses in all 50 states.
What piece of advice did you personally receive early in your career that has helped shaped decisions you’ve made?
Always stay true to who you are and what you know. Stay in your own lane.

How have you turned a career mistake or failure into success in your career?
When the crash happened in 2007 I was working for a single client. Since that day I’ve been intentional about not putting all of my eggs in one basket.
If you had a clean slate to start over and do anything you wanted to do, what would that be?
A pilot.
What is the best advice you could give someone thinking about making a leap into Private Lending?
Thoroughly research the industry standards, try to gain some experience prior to jumping in fully, or consult with a mentor who knows the industry well.
