United States District Court
- Northern District of California
- All courthouses of the United States District Court, Northern District of California, shall be closed to the public until May 1, 2020. Only persons having official court business authorized by General Order No. 72, or by a presiding judge, may enter courthouse property. For more info see general order 72 & 73.
- Northern District Bankruptcy Court
- No in-court trial or evidentiary hearing will be commenced before May 1, 2020. All dates during that time that are currently scheduled have been vacated and will be reset by the presiding judge. For more info see general order 38 & 39.
- Central District of California
- All of the Courthouses of the Central District of California will be closed to the public except for hearings on criminal duty matters.
- All federal Pro Se Clinics in the district are closed.
- In civil cases, no hearings will go forward except for emergency time-sensitive matters, such as requests for temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions, as ordered by the assigned judicial officer. Any hearings on emergency civil matters will proceed telephonically only.
- Non-paper physical exhibits or other exhibits exempted from electronically filing shall be sent via U.S. Mail or other commercial delivery to the Clerk of Court at the above address.
- Until further notice, all district judges and magistrate judges do not require mandatory chambers copies during the pandemic.
- Any judge can require a chambers copy in a particular case if desired.  The chambers copy shall be mailed to the judge via Fed Ex. Chambers copy cannot be hand-delivered to the courthouse.

- Telephonic appearances are mandatory, except for trials and other evidentiary hearings through April 30, 2020, unless otherwise ordered by the court.

- Southern District Bankruptcy Court
- Although court remains open to the public and matters can be scheduled in the ordinary course, all hearings will be conducted telephonically, unless otherwise ordered by the individual judge.
- All parties are directed to follow the Mandatory Telephonic Hearing Guidelines.

- Eastern District of California/ Bankruptcy Court
- All courthouses shall be closed to the public. Only persons having official court business as authorized by a Judge of the District or Bankruptcy Court may enter courthouse property.
- Healthy Tenants having official business on behalf of a tenant agency may also enter.
- All civil matters will be decided on the papers. If a hearing is necessary it will be conducted via telephone or videoconference.
- All parties who will be representing themselves in civil and bankruptcy matters are encouraged to file documents by mail. For those unable drop boxes will be placed outside of the Sacramento, Fresno and Modesto courthouses.
- All criminal matter proceedings will continue to be held before magistrate judges. All matters that can be conducted via telephone or videoconference will proceed that way.
- District Judges may continue criminal cases to a date after May 1, 2020.
